here's to great food: a toast to one of my favorite brunch spots

I can say with confidence that brunch is my favorite meal, especially since I can sleep in past breakfast but still enjoy my favorite morning meals.  I'm not exactly the biggest fan of pancakes and waffles; however, I love a good Egg's Benedict accompanied with hash browns or a yummy chicken panini. I have a few go-to brunch places, but today I will share with you Toast. Situated on Third Street in the Beverly Grove area, Toast Bakery Cafe can be really crowded (especially for Sunday brunch).
The menu is by no means boring, Toast adds a delicious, creative, and aesthetically pleasing twist to everyone's favorite American breakfast and brunch items. The atmosphere is trendy, but not over-the-top and formal. I would consider it a casual place to eat, but since you never know who you might run in to, definitely don't opt for a messy bun and sweatpants.

{The Dip}

{Traditional Grilled Cheese)

{The Oscar}

We started out with one of my all-time favorite appetizers, The Dip. It's a spinach artichoke dip loaded with gooey cheese, garnished with feta and pico de gallo.  Honestly, what could be better?

My boyfriend ordered the Traditional Grilled Cheese; classic cheddar cheese on thick country white sourdough, served with creamy tomato soup. It's absolutely amazing, the cheese is delicious and the bread is perfectly crisp and toasted.

I ordered The Oscar, a sizzling platter of two tortillas filled with thin strips of grilled chicken, fried eggs and melted cheese, topped with guacamole and salsa and potatoes served on the side. I asked the waiter for extra sour cream, because in my opinion, it perfectly complements any Mexican-style dish.  It was my first time ordering The Oscar, and I don't think it will be my last time.

If you're ever in the area, be sure to check out this great spot.

Cheers,
Joyce
