My mom and I kicked off Spring Break the right way... we took a trip to New Orleans! As you can see from this blog, I'm big on food, so it only seemed fitting to eat as much as possible during my time in The Big Easy. We were there for three days, so we got to sample quite a few exquisite dishes.
Not everything is pictured, but we did get to try some popular and authentic favorites such as crawfish étouffée, jambalaya, fried shrimp, pralines and beignets. Out of everything we ate (which, was kinda a lot), I highly recommend treating yourself to the most delicious pastry known to mankind -- the beignet. It's similar to donut, but so much better. Just thinking about the crisp outside, the soft and fluffy inside and the sweet powdered sugar finish gives me chills. Of course, don't miss out on Cafe du Monde. I also tried the place next door, which serves a cajun sausage wrapped in a beignet. It was glorious.
Take a peek at some of the other amazing dishes I had in this beautiful city! I can't wait to come back. Thank you New Orleans for never letting me go hungry!
